The books ‘Pudgy Pig’, ‘Pesky Pup’ and ‘Cuddly Cub’ were first published in 2002. Ten years later, the brief for this project was to redesign the covers and the internals to give it a fresh and modern look. The objective is that the 3 books should have some similar visual elements to tie them together as a series but also have differences to distinguish them as individual titles. The saying “don’t judge a book by it’s cover” doesn’t apply here as the cover need to be eye-catching and stand out from the shelf. The similarity and cohesion is created through the use of layout (the wooden frame and plants overlaying it). To distinguide them as individual titles, I used bright colours and adjusted the typography of the title to reflect the characters in the story.
